Community Research Initiative (CRI) is an independent, nonprofit, community-based organization in New England dedicated to HIV and hepatitis C clinical research, treatment education, and financial assistance for approved HIV drug treatments and health insurance coverage.

OUR RESEARCH
You make our research possible, and we are pleased to announce another research milestone. CRI was selected as one of several sites in Boston to conduct a study that could forever change the course of treatment for people co-infected with HIV and hepatitis C (HCV). An earlier trial conducted at CRI, ION-3, studied the same single-tablet regimen in people with HCV alone who had never received prior HCV treatment, and the results were outstanding. After just 8 weeks of treatment, approximately 95% of participants were cured of HCV, and all remained cured 12 weeks after treatment completion.
HDAP
CRI will be participating in a new initiative designed to offer coordinated assistance to healthcare providers for enrolling and retaining their patients in comprehensive healthcare coverage. Drawing on our expertise in insurance and benefits programs gained through our management of HDAP, CRI is establishing a resource team to assist both case managers and consumers throughout the state as they navigate public and private insurance programs and procedures.
