RE: COVID-19 and MASSACHUSETTS HIV DRUG ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (HDAP) REIMBURSEMENT
Please distribute to your pharmacy network or partners as appropriate.
In response to Massachusetts Governor Baker’s declaration of a State of Emergency to Respond to COVID-19 ( https://www.mass.gov/executive-orders/no-591-declaration-of-a-state-of-emergency-to-respond-to-covid-19) and to ensure that HDAP clients do not experience a gap in coverage or treatment access during this public health emergency, the following temporary changes to our standard pharmacy reimbursement policies are effective immediately:
- HDAP will reimburse pharmacies for prescription charges submitted for “early” fills (prescriptions filled before the usual refill approval date), as allowed by the client’s insurer.
- HDAP will reimburse pharmacies for prescription charges submitted for 60- or 90-day fills, as allowed by the client’s insurer.
- Please note that this applies only to insured clients, with prescription co-pays; it does not apply to full-pay (uninsured) clients.
